What's this gear actually made out of, and is it going to hold up in a rough industrial setting?

Steel construction all the way through. For piston pump accessory drive applications, that matters a lot since these components take real stress in heavy-duty environments like manufacturing and construction. It's not a lightweight part built for light duty, it's meant to be in there working.
