trying to tie into a JIC line but my branch needs pipe thread. is that what this tee is for?

For mixed-thread hookups, it gives you two male JIC 37 degree flare ports (9/16-18) and one male NPTF port (3/8-18), so you can keep the run in JIC and take the branch off in pipe thread.

got a mixed-thread assembly running JIC lines into an NPTF manifold port, does this tee handle both thread types in one fitting?

That's what this one's built for. Two of the ports are male JIC SAE 37-degree flare, sized at 9/16-18 and spec'd to SAE J514. The third port is male NPTF at 3/8-18, per SAE J476. So you can branch off two JIC lines while tying into a straight pipe thread port all from a single fitting. Forged steel construction keeps it solid under load, and it's rated to 6,000 PSI dynamic pressure, so high-pressure hydraulic circuits aren't a problem.
