pump says it's field reversible, how hard is that to actually do on the job without pulling it off the machine?

Reversing the rotation on this pump does not require specialized tooling, so you can make that change during installation or if you need to reconfigure the circuit later. It's a practical feature for situations where the drive rotation does not match what you originally planned for, and it keeps you from having to source a different unit just to get the direction right.
