pump says it's field reversible, what does that actually mean for someone swapping it onto existing equipment?

Rotation direction can be changed without sending the pump back or ordering a different unit. If your setup runs the shaft in the opposite direction from what a previous pump used, you can adjust the direction right there during installation. That saves a lot of headache when you're fitting it onto a tractor or harvester that may have been running a different brand before.
