pump says it's field reversible, does that mean I can just flip the rotation direction out in the shop without sending it back somewhere?

That's what field reversible means on this one. You can change the pump's rotation direction yourself without having to ship it off or get a shop involved. It's a handy feature when you're swapping it into a circuit that runs the opposite direction from what the previous pump did.
