What kinda machines is this GR pump good for?

This Danfoss/Eaton GR pump is built for tractors, harvesters, lift trucks, and other mobile and industrial applications. It's also used in machine tools and steering circuits.

pump says it's field reversible, what does that actually mean, do I need any special tools or parts to flip the direction?

No extra parts or tools required for that. Field reversible just means you can change the rotation direction right where the equipment sits, without shipping the unit back to get modified at a shop or factory. Handy when you're swapping it onto a machine that runs the opposite direction from what you pulled off.
