pump says it's field reversible -- does that mean I can swap the rotation direction myself out in the shop without sending it off somewhere?

Yeah, that's exactly what it means. The Series 26 is built so you can change the pump's rotation direction right there in your own shop without having to ship it out or get a technician involved. Handy when you're swapping it into a different machine or if the original setup ran the wrong direction for your circuit.
