Product Questions & Answers

pump says it's field reversible, is that something a guy can do without pulling the whole unit off the machine?
Question by: Vince P on Mar 28, 2025, 10:45 AM
Field reversible means the rotation direction can be swapped without full removal or specialized shop equipment. On this Series 26 gear pump, that capability is built into the design, so you're not looking at a teardown job every time a circuit change requires different flow direction. It's one of the more practical features on a pump that's going to see use across something like a tractor or a sweeper where setup flexibility matters.

trying to cut down on that hydraulic whine on my equipment, is this pump built any quieter?
Question by: Jimmy W on Nov 6, 2025, 10:10 AM
Reduced noise and vibration is one of the stated features on this Series 26 external gear pump, along with improved volumetric and mechanical efficiency, so it is aimed at running smoother and more efficiently than older or less refined gear pump designs.

Will this gear pump work okay on my tractor's hydraulic system?
Question by: Cody G on Mar 14, 2026, 9:51 PM
This Series 26 gear pump from Eaton Char-Lynn is often used in tractors and harvesters, as well as steering circuits and auxiliary work circuits. It should be suitable, assuming your system's specifications align with the pump's capabilities.
