Been running a sweeper truck for a few years now and the original gear pump finally gave out. This a direct replacement or do I need to check something first before ordering?

For sweeper applications, this pump fits right in that kind of work. It's a fixed displacement external gear pump in the Danfoss/Eaton Series 26 line, sold under the Char-Lynn brand. As long as your existing setup called for a Series 26 unit with part number 26002-LAB, you'd be looking at a match. Worth confirming the MPN on your old pump before pulling the trigger, since gear pumps in this family come in different displacement sizes.
