Will this here pump work on my tractor for running a hydraulic log splitter?

runs pretty quiet compared to other gear pumps i've used, or is that just marketing talk?

Reduced noise and vibration is actually a built-in design feature of the L2 series, not just a selling point. Gear pumps in general can be noisy, so Danfoss put real effort into the L2 to bring that down. You'll notice the difference especially in enclosed cabs or equipment where operator comfort matters.
