pump direction reversible in the field, or do you have to pull it and send it back out?

Field-reversible rotation is built into this unit. You can swap the pump direction on-site without pulling it from service and sending it off. That's a real time-saver when you're dealing with installation changes or swapping out equipment mid-job.
