what material is this gasket made out of? trying to figure out if it'll hold up alright in my application

Polyethylene is the material used for this gasket. It's a common choice for hydraulic sealing components where you need decent chemical resistance and durability without a lot of added weight or cost. For most standard hydraulic applications running Eaton Char-Lynn equipment, polyethylene holds up well as a replacement spare part.
