Product Questions & Answers

got a JIC line and need to kick it over 45 degrees into a pipe port. what threads are on each end of this elbow?
Question by: Danny P on Aug 8, 2025, 12:30 PM
On the JIC side, it uses a Male JIC SAE 37 degree flare thread in 3/4-16 per SAE J514. The other end is a Male NPTF pipe thread in 3/8-18 per SAE J476.

Is this elbow made to hold up in an oily environment, or do I need to be extra careful with it?
Question by: Eddie P on Dec 11, 2025, 11:02 AM
Forged steel gives this elbow good durability in industrial settings. It's rated to handle a maximum dynamic pressure of 6000 PSI.

Got a line running 3/8 NPT male on one end and need to tie into a JIC 37-degree flare fitting on the other side with a 45-degree angle change. This elbow gonna work for that?
Question by: Brent M on Jul 21, 2025, 5:55 PM
That setup is exactly what this fitting handles. One end is a 3/8-18 Male NPTF thread and the other is a 3/4-16 Male JIC SAE 37 Degree Flare, so it bridges those two thread types while giving you that 45-degree direction change in the line. Both threads meet SAE spec, J476 on the NPTF side and J514 on the JIC side, so you're working with standardized connections on both ends.
