Does this fitting need any thread sealant or special tape put on it before you run it in?

No sealant or tape required on this one. The 08MJ-04MP is built to connect without thread sealant, so you can go ahead and install it straight out of the box. Same goes for a mandrel, no need for one of those either. Keeps the job moving without the extra steps.
