Built for that exact mix, it has a #14 MJIC connection on one side and a #12 MP on the other, with a 90 degree bend in between to change direction while joining those two thread types.

That's exactly what it's for. The 14MJ-12MP 90 ELB lets you make that connection at a right angle.
