fitting's rated to 5,000 PSI, that enough for most standard hydraulic lines on a skid steer or loader?

For typical mobile equipment hydraulic circuits, 5,000 PSI dynamic pressure is solid. Most loader and skid steer systems run well under that threshold, so this forged steel elbow should hold up without issue under normal working pressures.

got a hose end that’s #12 JIC, will this elbow screw right on and then go into a 3/8 NPTF port?

With a #12 male JIC 37 degree flare on one side and a 3/8-18 male NPTF on the other, it’s meant to mate to a #12 JIC female swivel connection and a 3/8-18 NPTF female port. The JIC side follows SAE J514 and the NPTF side follows SAE J476.
