You've got it right on the first guess. One end is #10 MJIC and the other is #6 MP, so it's a reducing elbow, not a straight same-size fitting. That 90-degree bend is built right into it, which makes it real handy when you're routing lines in tight spots and need to change both direction and thread type at the same junction.
