got a hose end that’s #6 MJIC and the other side is #8 MP. is this the 90 degree elbow that ties those together?

For a right angle hookup between those two sizes, it’s a #6 MJIC to #8 MP 90 degree elbow adapter. It’s made to give you that fixed 90 degree turn while connecting a #6 MJIC end to a #8 MP port.
