Got a 3/8 NPTF port on a pump housing and need to run a JIC line off it, this the right fitting to make that jump?

For that exact transition, yes. One end of this adapter is a 7/8-14 Male JIC with a 37-degree flare per SAE J514, and the other is a 3/8-18 Female NPTF per SAE J476. That combination is built for connecting JIC hydraulic lines directly to NPTF ported components, so a pump housing with a 3/8 NPTF port is a solid fit for what this part does.

This straight steel adapter is designed specifically for that purpose. It connects a 7/8-14 Male JIC SAE 37° Flare to a 3/8-18 Female NPTF thread, making it suitable for transitioning between those types of connections.
