trying to hook a #8 JIC hose end up to a 1/8-27 NPTF port, is that what this adapter does?

For tying those two thread styles together, it steps from a #8 Male JIC 37 degree flare with 3/4-16 threads over to a #2 Male NPTF with 1/8-27 threads, in a straight inline adapter.
