got a couple hose ends with 1-5/16-12 JIC fittings on both sides and need a union-style connection between em, this the right piece for that?

both ends on this adapter are 1-5/16-12 male JIC with a 37-degree flare, so if your hose ends are female JIC on both sides, this straight union will bridge them just fine. The threads conform to SAE J514, which is the standard spec for JIC flare fittings, so you're not dealing with anything proprietary here.

For matching JIC flare connections, it uses a 1-5/16-12 male JIC SAE 37 degree flare thread on both ends, built to SAE J514, so it’s a straight male JIC to male JIC adapter in that same size.
