got a skid steer loader and a couple other machines that all need hydraulic control and I'm trying to figure out if one valve assembly can handle mixed compensation setups or if I'd need separate units for that

Pre- and post-compensated sections can actually coexist in a single CLS101 assembly. That's one of the more useful things about this valve's design. You're not locked into one compensation style across the whole unit, so if your circuit calls for a mix, you don't have to piece together multiple valve bodies to make it work.
