Push lock end on this thing, does it need any clamps or extra hardware to stay put on the hose, or does it grip on its own?

Push lock barb fittings are built to hold without separate clamps under normal working conditions. The barb geometry bites into the hose wall as you push it on, and that mechanical grip is what keeps it seated. Just make sure you're pairing it with hose rated for push lock connections and sized to match the 3/8 barb end on this fitting.

got a push-lock hose on one side and pipe thread on the other, right?

On the B1 end you get a push lock hose barb (ISO 12151), and on the B2 end it has a 3/8-18 male NPTF thread (SAE J476), so it’s meant to join a push-lock hose connection to an NPTF port.

This straight brass fitting has a 3/8-18 Male NPTF thread size, according to SAE J476 specifications.
