what kind of plating does this fitting have, and is it gonna hold up in wet or dirty conditions?

Carbon steel construction with Dura-Kote plating gives it solid corrosion resistance for tough environments. That coating was put on there specifically to handle the kind of exposure you see in mobile equipment, mining, and shipyard work where moisture and grime are pretty much a given.
