Carbon steel with Dura-Kote plating is exactly what you want for marine exposure. The corrosion resistance that coating provides is a big part of why this part is rated for marine and offshore drilling applications. It holds up where plain steel fittings fall apart fast.

got a hose end with a 1-1/2 female swivel, is this the straight adapter that’ll mate up to a 1-1/2 male pipe port?

It’s a straight adapter with an NPSM female internal pipe swivel on one end and an NPTF male external pipe thread on the other, both called out as 1-1/2. That combination is meant to connect a female swivel NPSM side to a male NPTF pipe port.
