got a port with 1-5/16-12 ORB on one side and need to go over to a 37 degree JIC male, is that what this adapter is?

got a hose end that’s 16 male ORB on one side and 16 male JIC on the other. is this the straight adapter for that setup?

For tying those two thread types together in a straight run, this adapter matches SAE O-ring Boss male on one end and SAE 37 degree flare (JIC) male on the other, in size 16 to size 16.

does this adapter go from ORB to JIC, or is it the other way around, trying to figure out which end hooks up where before i order

Both ends are male. One side is SAE O-ring Boss (ORB) and the other is SAE 37 degree flare, which is your standard JIC connection. So you're getting a straight male-to-male adapter that bridges those two fitting types without any inline direction to worry about. Just match each end to its corresponding port or hose fitting and you're set.
