got a hose end that’s 32 male JIC, will this adapter mate up to it and what’s on the other side?

Function-wise, it bridges two common hydraulic thread styles in a straight adapter. One end is a male SAE O-ring Boss (ORB) and the other end is a male SAE 37 degree flare (JIC), both in size 32.

does this thing work for marine applications or is it strictly industrial? got a hydraulic line on a boat setup that needs a straight adapter between ORB and JIC fittings

Marine is actually one of the listed applications for this adapter, so you're in good shape. The Dura-Kote plating is what makes it hold up in those environments where corrosion is a real concern. Carbon steel with that kind of surface treatment handles the exposure better than a plain steel fitting would. One end is SAE O-ring Boss male and the other is SAE 37 degree flare male, so as long as your line connections match those thread types, it'll fit right in.
