Dura-Kote plating for superior corrosion resistance|Design flexibility with hundreds of styles to choose from|Higher operating pressures above SAE standards
brass okay for hydraulic fittings or should I be looking at something else for this application?
Question by: Jerry S on Nov 20, 2025, 11:51 AM
Brass works well in hydraulic systems where pressures stay within the fitting's rated range and the fluid being used is compatible with brass construction. The Eaton Aeroquip 2003 series is built to exceed standard SAE pressure ratings, so you're not working with a bare-minimum part here. The Dura-Kote plating also adds a layer of corrosion protection you wouldn't get from plain brass, which matters in environments where moisture or mild exposure is a factor. For most hydraulic and fluid transfer setups, brass with that kind of treatment is a solid, practical choice.

trying to swap out an old elbow, is this one a 90 degree with 3/8 NPTF male on one end and a 6 (5/8) SAE 45 on the other?
Question by: Brent S on Oct 17, 2025, 6:54 AM
Function-wise it is a 90° elbow adapter with male threads on both ends, built as NPTF male on one side and SAE 45° male flare on the other. The end sizes shown are 0.375 for the NPTF side and 0.625 for the SAE 45 side.
