It splits incoming flow into two separate streams at equal proportion, which is what keeps paired cylinders moving together instead of one running ahead of the other. Worth noting that you'll get the best accuracy when you're running it close to the maximum rated inlet flow of 21 GPM rather than down at the low end of the 3 to 21 GPM range. Also make sure you have relief valves protecting each circuit and run a 25-micron filter on it. Those two things make a real difference in how well it holds sync over time.
