got a hose that measures right around 15/16 inch on the outside. is this clamp in the ballpark or am i gonna be fighting it

You want the hose outside diameter to land in the clamp’s clamping range of 0.866 to 0.984 inch. A 15/16 inch OD is 0.9375 inch, which sits right in that range and matches the nominal size listed, so it should be a good match.
