pump's only rated for clockwise rotation -- can that be swapped out if my setup runs counterclockwise?

Rotation can be changed on this pump by reversing the positions of the drive shaft and driven shaft and rotating the front flange. It ships standard with clockwise rotation, so if your system runs the other direction, you'd just need to make that adjustment during installation. No separate pump model required for CCW applications.

Will this pump work okay with regular hydraulic fluid?

This Salami pump is rated to work with hydraulic fluids within a viscosity range of 66 to 3635 SUS, with the normal operating range being 85 to 297 SUS.
