pump says clockwise rotation only, is that locked in or can it be switched around if my setup runs the other direction?

Rotation can actually be changed on these. Reversing the positions of the drive shaft and driven shaft, then rotating the front flange, will get you to counterclockwise. It's not factory-set in a way that's permanent. Just keep in mind the unit ships standard in clockwise, so if you need CCW you'll be making that adjustment yourself on your end.
