got a Salami 2.5PB setup, is this the rear cover that gives you SAE ports in 16 and 12?

For the Salami 2.5PB series, this part is the rear ports cover configured with rear SAE ports in sizes 16 and 12.

what's this cover actually for on the 2.5PB series, is it just blanking off unused ports or does it do something more than that
