runs continuously on a refuse hauler, will this cartridge hold up or is it gonna have issues with heat and pressure over time?

Continuous duty is well within what this valve is built for. The 1VR200 is internally pilot operated and rated for up to 5000 PSI with a max flow of 52 GPM, and it's specifically noted as good for continuous duty with accurate pressure control across constant or varying flows. Refuse hauler applications are listed right in the intended use for this series, so it fits that environment without issue.

So, this here's just the cartridge, right? I gotta get the housing separate?

That's correct. This is the cartridge valve only; the housing (cavity size A16102) is sold separately.
