trying to swap out a fitting on a -6 hose, is this one the straight JIC style with a female end?

For a -6 reusable hose setup, this one matches that size and uses an SAE 37 degree female end on one side. The other end is meant for a line, hose, or tube connection, so it fits the straight JIC style called out for the 1R Series.

No mandrel needed for this one, right? Trying to figure out if I can swap it in without hunting down extra tooling.

Correct, no mandrel is required for installation. You can work it into your existing setup without needing any special assembly tools beyond what you'd normally have on hand for hose fittings. That's one of the reasons this style of reusable fitting tends to move things along faster on the shop floor.
