So this fitting's made outta carbon steel, right? How well does that hold up in the kinda humid weather we get down here?

Carbon steel gives you a good, strong fitting, and it's definitely suitable for industrial use. Keep in mind that carbon steel can be susceptible to rust over time, especially in humid environments. You might want to consider adding a protective coating or using it in conjunction with corrosion inhibitors to get the most life out of it.
