what's the material on this fitting? trying to figure out if it'll hold up in a rougher environment where things get beat on pretty regular

Carbon steel construction with Dura-Kote plating. That coating is specifically there for corrosion resistance, so it's got more going for it than a bare steel fitting would in a harsh environment.
