So this is carbon steel, right? How well does it hold up to rust?

what's the corrosion protection like on this fitting? working in conditions where rust is a real problem and need something that'll hold up

Carbon steel with Dura-Kote plating is what you're getting here. That plating is specifically there to fight corrosion, so it holds up better than bare steel in rough or wet environments. It's one of the features Aeroquip built into this line to keep hose assemblies running longer between replacements.
