what's the corrosion resistance like on this fitting? got equipment sitting in some pretty rough conditions and the last set rusted out faster than I'd like

Aeroquip puts a Dura-Kote plating on these fittings, which is their corrosion protection coating built to hold up better than standard zinc or plain steel finishes. Carbon steel underneath, so the plating is doing real work there. If your environment is consistently wet or exposed, that coating is a meaningful upgrade over uncoated fittings in the same price range.

trying to swap out a hose end, is this the one for a -6 hose with a female SAE 45 swivel?

It’s a 1A Series crimp hose fitting set up as a female SAE 45 degree swivel on a 45 degree elbow, and it’s tagged for hose dash size -6 with an end size of 0.625.
