what's the corrosion protection like on these fittings? running equipment outdoors and rust has been a real problem with cheaper stuff

Carbon steel fittings in outdoor or wet environments can corrode fast if they're not treated right. These carry Dura-Kote plating, which is specifically applied to give you better corrosion resistance than standard zinc or uncoated steel. If you've been burning through fittings from other brands, this is one of the main reasons folks switch to Aeroquip for general hydraulic work.
