got a skid steer brush cutter attachment that's been eating motors, wondering if this 2000 series unit holds up to that kind of continuous load or if it's more of a light-duty thing

For brush cutter work on skid steers, this motor is about as well-matched as it gets. It's built from cast iron and rated at 765 newton metres of torque, so it's got the muscle for that kind of heavy, grinding workload. The Geroler design is part of why it holds up, it runs more efficiently than a lot of comparable motors, which means less heat buildup over time and less wear on the internals. That torque rating puts it solidly in the heavy-duty category, not light-duty territory.
