What's this key made out of, and is it meant to work with Danfoss and Eaton piston pumps specifically?

Steel construction, and yes, it's built as an accessory for Danfoss and Eaton piston pumps. The square key design is pretty standard for shaft coupling applications on that style of pump, so if you're working with one of those units and need a replacement key, this is the correct part to go after. SKU is 16244-440 if you need to match it up on an order.
