Does the Dura-Kote plating on this plug hold up decent in environments where there's a lot of moisture or grime buildup?

Dura-Kote is specifically applied to provide strong corrosion resistance, so yes, it handles moisture and dirty industrial conditions better than an uncoated carbon steel fitting would. That plating is one of the main reasons this plug gets used in demanding environments where bare steel wouldn't last nearly as long.

Is this plug made of strong stuff? I need it to hold up in a factory setting.

Dura-Kote plating provides really good corrosion resistance, so it should hold up well in demanding industrial environments. The carbon steel construction is also designed to exceed SAE pressure standards, giving it a higher operating pressure capability.
