trying to swap out an elbow on a 1/2-14 line, is this one male pipe thread on one side and a swivel female on the other?

On the B1 end you get a 1/2-14 male NPTF thread (SAE J476), and on the B2 end it has a 1/2-14 female NPSM swivel thread (SAE J514). It is a 45 degree swivel elbow, so it is meant to give you that angled turn with a swivel connection on the female side.

Got a 45-degree elbow spot that needs a swivel end on one side and a pipe thread on the other, this the right setup for that?

That's what this fitting does. One end is a male NPTF pipe thread, size 1/2-14, built to SAE J476 spec. The other end is a female NPSM swivel, also 1/2-14, conforming to SAE J514. The swivel lets you adjust the line position after assembly without fighting the whole fitting to get things lined up right. Forged steel construction means it holds up in systems running dynamic pressure up to 5,000 psi.
