trying to swap out an old 1501-24-24 elbow, is the 1501-24-24-FG the same thing or did they change it up

For replacements, 1501-24-24-FG crosses to 1501-24-24 and also A2047-24-24S. It is a 90 degree forged steel elbow with a 1-1/2-11-1/2 male NPTF end (SAE J476) and a 1-1/2-11-1/2 female NPSM swivel end (SAE J514).

What kind of pressure can this elbow handle, cause I'm gonna be usin' it pretty hard?

It's rated for a maximum dynamic pressure of 2,000 psi, built to hold up in demanding conditions.

got a 1-1/2 inch NPTF male fitting on a hydraulic line and need a 90 degree turn with a swivel on the other end, this the right piece for that?

That's what this fitting does. The male end is a 1-1/2-11-1/2 NPTF thread conforming to SAE J476, and the female swivel end is a 1-1/2-11-1/2 NPSM per SAE J514. So you get your 90 degree change in direction plus the rotational freedom on the swivel side to help with alignment during hookup.
