got a 1/2 NPTF male fitting on my manifold block and need to swing a line off at 90 degrees with a swivel end, this the right piece for that?

That setup is exactly what this adapter is built for. One end threads in as a 1/2-14 Male NPTF, which is your dry-seal pipe thread, and the other end gives you a 1/2-14 Female NPSM Swivel so the hose or line can rotate during assembly without twisting.
