Will this thing automatically pop open if the pressure hits 100 psi? Just want to make sure I understand how it works.

That's what it's designed to do. This Conbraco air relief valve is preset to automatically release excess pressure when it reaches 100 PSI.

got a line that’s spiking pressure sometimes. is this the kind of valve that’ll pop off on its own at 100 psi?

Set up for automatic pressure release, it opens when pressure builds to its preset 100 PSI point and vents to relieve that excess pressure.
