Got a JIS female port on a piece of equipment and need to tie into an ORFS line, this the right adapter for that?

That's what this one's built for. One end is a 3/8" Male ORFS with an 11/16-16 UN thread, and the other is a 3/8" Female JIS running a G 3/8-19 thread. If your JIS port and ORFS line are both 3/8", this adapter bridges them directly with no extra fittings in between.

got a hose end that’s ORFS male 11/16-16, will this adapter mate up to it and give me a JIS female on the other side?

Side 1 is a Male ORFS with 11/16 - 16 UN threads and it is sized for a 3/8 inch connection. The other end is a Female JIS with G 3/8 - 19 threads, also for a 3/8 inch connection, so it converts ORFS male to JIS female in that size.
