trying to swap a fitting out, is this one female NPTF on one end and a female NPSM swivel on the other, both 1/8-27?

On the thread side, it is a female NPTF (SAE J476) on B1 and a female NPSM swivel (SAE J514) on B2, and both ends are 1/8-27.

rated at 6,000 PSI -- that hold up on a system running pretty close to that ceiling all day long?

6,000 PSI is the maximum dynamic pressure rating on this adapter, so running at or near that figure continuously puts you right at the edge of its design limit. For systems that regularly push close to that ceiling, staying a bit below that max is the safer call. Intermittent spikes up to 6,000 PSI are what this rating is built to handle, not sustained operation pinned at the top of that range.

it's straight steel. The overall length on this Brennan 02FP-02FPS Straight adapter is 1.020 mm.
