Swivel fittings like this one can feel a little loose before installation, but once the Male NPTF end is threaded in and the system is pressurized, the NPSM swivel seat locks up against the mating surface and holds position. Brennan built this to 6,000 psi dynamic pressure capacity, so moderate spikes well within that range won't cause the swivel to back off or leak down. The NPTF thread on the fixed end also creates a mechanical seal without relying solely on sealant, which helps a lot in systems that cycle frequently.

Function-wise, it is a straight steel adapter with a 3/8-18 Male NPTF on one end and a 3/8-18 Female NPSM swivel on the other. It’s in Brennan’s 1404 series and matches SAE J476 on the NPTF side and SAE J514 on the swivel side.
